Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) measures your blood pressure as you are going about your everyday life. It takes readings on a set interval, normally every 30 mins, for a 24 hour period. It uses a digital blood pressure machine that is attached to a belt around your body and which is connected to a cuff around your upper arm. It is small enough that you can go about your normal daily life and even sleep with it on.
Cardio STAT Holter Monitor (48h, 7 days and 14 days)
The CardioSTAT Holter is a test that allows the recording of your heartbeat continuously over a period of 48 hours, 7 days or 14 days. All the heartbeats are recorded on the device itself, which then is analyzed by a cardiologist. This new technology allows for a much longer reading that the standard holter. It’s wireless design also allows you so shower with the device on.
Electrocardiogram
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test which measures the electrical activity of your heart to show whether or not it is working normally. An ECG records the heart’s rhythm and activity on a moving strip of paper or a line on a screen. Your doctor can read and interpret the peaks and dips on paper or screen to see if there is any abnormal or unusual activity.
